Is TRLT a Co-op? 

Not in the truest form, while we do come together to school, it is pay based. Teachers get paid to teach and teaching is optional. The premise is that is it not always your season to teach,  and we want to offer teachers that are able to serve our students well in a subject that they are passionate about.

Do I have to teach?

No, the teachers are compensated for their time from your fees, teaching is optional.
 
Can I teach?
After attending TRLT for a year you may request a class.
 You may submit a class request for review by December 31st for the following school year.
 
Can I drop off and pick up?
Middle school age 13 and up  may be dropped off. They are  expected to attend their assigned classes and gathering time at noon.  Students should be respectful of the authority of teachers and administration, or this privilege will be revoked.
 
Does TRLT to submit anything to the school system?
No, we are group of homeschoolers helping other homeschoolers, by pooling our resources. It is the responsibility of each family to submit your Notice of Intent to the school district in which you live, by the deadline stated.
 
General calendar information:
Registration will open March 1 for returning families and March 15 for new families. Registration deadline is July 31 we typically start the Monday after Labor Day our year is 30 weeks.
 
What is the class size?
For elementary the maximum is 15 and middle school is 18, high school 18.  The minimum is three.
 
Does TRLT provide any testing?
At this time TRLT  does not offer any standardized testing.
We do not use classroom time for testing. Depending on the courses,  tests may be sent home for parents to administer.
 
How many classes do you offer?
Currently we offer 63 classes in K through 12th grade.  A student may take only one, or  may take up to six classes.
 
Will there be work assigned for the week?
Yes,  generally speaking, one can expect 5 minutes per grade level, per class,  per day of work to be completed during the week. For example fourth grade should assume there will be 20 minutes of work for each class for each day not at TRLT, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

What our day looks like

9-11:50. Our first three classes are held, starting at the top of the hour and running for 50minutes. Students have 10 minutes to change classes. Kindergarten and First grade both run for the first 3 sessions and do not change rooms.

12:00-12:10 THE GATHERING- Everyone should be there — we do a hymn study, verse, prayer and announcements. This is a sweet time for all to be together.

1-3:50 Our final three sessions, each for 50 minutes.

When is payment due?

Payment is due on the first Monday that we meet each month. Note that the monthly payment is a payment plan, and price does not vary based not the weeks we attend each month.

When do we meet?

We meet on Mondays September through April. First class 9 am and last class at 3.
